This spring, hundreds of teams will compete on campuses across the country. Spin throws will fly, glory will be grabbed, and teams will be crowned the Pnock Out Pneumonia Dodgeball Champions!

And every single team will contribute to an all-too-important cause, the fight against childhood pneumonia. This year, 2 million children will die from this treatable, preventable disease. That’s more than HIV/AIDS, malaria, and measles combined. With only $8, we can treat a sick child, and with $20 we can vaccinate a child against the most common strains of pneumonia.

In spite of pneumonia's wide reach, a 2007 study commissioned by the US Coalition for Child Survival found that only 4% of Americans could identify pneumonia as the world's deadliest children's disease. The lack of information about this preventable, curable illness is staggering.

We are fighting this awareness gap, and working to educate the public about the world's deadliest children's disease. We are raising funds to provide needed resources to organizations on the ground to help them fight pneumonia. And, we are building a society that will insist that needed resources to fight this disease are allocated.

Money raised by Pnock Out Pneumonia participants will help provide children in developing countries with the health services they need to survive this hidden killer. Funds will also support the Best Shot Foundation’s grassroots awareness projects.
